PROMOTION
West Side Story has two Instagram accounts. One to post non-athletic news and events (@wsspaper) and another account to post athletic news and events (@wssathletics). Instagram is one of our main ways that we promote content to the student body. A large part of social media is about meeting people where they're at, and high schoolers are on Instagram.
X, formerly known as Twitter
As a part of their grade, every WSS staffer is required to promote their work on Facebook and X. This helps us get our stories out to the community.
Although most of our audience is on X and Instagram, we promote our stories on the West Side Story Facebook page to engage our older audience.
TikToks and Reels
To put out more entertaining promotions, we use our TikTok and Instagram accounts, @wsspaper to deliver promotions through videos.
